HONO SALVAL

Professional bio

Industrial engineer, computational geometer.

An industrial engineer with a PhD in computational geometry, interested in turning complex shapes and signals into structures people can understand and trust.

I’m Hono - formally, Honorio Salmerón Valdivieso. I trained as an industrial engineer before completing a PhD in computational geometry. That path took me from mechanics, rheology, and manufacturing into design automation, geometric optimisation, data analysis, signal processing, and machine learning.

I’m most at home with ambiguous, technically awkward problems where mathematical ideas and practical constraints have to meet. I care about clear reasoning, honest limitations, and software that remains legible after the interesting prototype is finished.

Away from formal research and engineering, I make ambient music and build small experiments around musical structure, handwriting, spatial interfaces, and whatever else refuses to leave my head. This site is partly a record of the serious work and partly a place for those curiosities to escape.
